# CBSE Maths Question Paper for Class 10 | 2018

###### CBSE Solved Question Paper 3 Mark | Real Numbers | LCM HCF

Real numbers question. An easy 3-mark Section C question from real numbers. Compute the LCM and HCF of two numbers by prime factorization method. Then verify the rule that HCF × LCM = Product of the two given numbers. Detailed explanation and video solution to this CBSE class 10 previous year question paper 3-mark question is given below.

Question 13: Find HCF and LCM of 404 and 96 and verify that HCF × LCM = Product of the two given numbers.

## NCERT Solution to Class 10 Maths

### Explanatory Answer

Prime factorize both the numbers.
404 = 22 × 101
96 = 25 × 3

LCM is the product of the "highest" power of "all prime" factors.
LCM = 25 × 101 × 3 = 9696

HCF is the product of the "lowest power" of "common prime" factors.
HCF = 22 = 4

LCM × HCF = 9696 × 4 = 38,784
Product of the two given numbers 404 × 96 = 38784
∴ HCF × LCM = Product of the two given numbers
