CBSE 10th Maths NCERT exercise Solution | Chapter: Real Numbers | Concept: Properties of product of LCM and HCF of 2 numbers

Question 4: Given that HCF (306, 657) = 9, find LCM (306, 657).

Explanatory Answer

Given HCF (306, 657) = 9

Property: Product of 2 numbers = Product of LCM & HCF of the 2 numbers
306 × 657 = LCM (306, 657) × HCF (306, 657)
306 × 657 = LCM (306, 657) × 9
LCM (306, 657) = \\frac{306 × 657}{9}) = 34 × 657
= 22338

Caveat: The property works only for 2 numbers. It will not work for all instances for more than 2 numbers. So, remember to use it only for 2 numbers.
