Question 3: A cuboidal vessel is 10 m long and 8 m wide. How high must it be made to hold 380 cubic metres of a liquid?
Let h be the height of the cuboidal vessel.
Length of the cuboidal vessel, l = 10 m
Width of the cuboidal vessel, b = 8 m
Volume of the cuboidal vessel = 380 m3
Volume of a cuboid = l × b × h
380 = 10 × 8 × h
h = \\frac{380}{10×8})
h = \\frac{380}{80})
h = 4.75 m
The height of the cuboidal vessel should be 4.75 m to hold 380 m3 of liquid.
