The given point is plotted on the x-y plane.

Coordinates

Perpendicular Distance From X-axis

The ordinate (y – coordinate) measures the perpendicular distance from the x – axis.
The ordinate of this point is 6.

Therefore, the perpendicular distance of the point from x – axis is 6 units.

Perpendicular Distance From Y-axis

The abscissa (x – coordinate) measures the perpendicular distance from y - axis.
The abscissa of the point is -7.

Therefore, the perpendicular distance of the point from the y – axis is 7 units.
