Explanatory Answer | Sample Question Paper 2019 Q11

Total number of outcomes when 2 dice are thrown = 36

Condition to be satisfied: Product of numbers appearing on the dice should be prime.
This is possible only when one number is '1' and the other number is a prime number.
Favourable outcomes = (1, 2), (1, 3), (1, 5), (2, 1), (3, 1), (5, 1) = 6 outcomes

Required probability = \\frac{6}{36}) = \\frac{1}{6})
